The SAT Subject Test in Math Level 2 covers the content of pre-calculus. The best time to take the SAT Subject Tests in Math is at the end of the course, when the material is still fresh in your mind. June is the best time to take it, with May as a close runner up.

Theoretically, you need to have completed a pre-calculus class with a solid “B” or better to feel comfortable on the Math 2, whereas the content of the Math 1 test covers only Algebra 2 and basic trigonometry. Some advanced math students (pre-calculus or beyond) make the mistake of taking Math 1 instead of Math 2 on the premise that it will be easier to score higher on the Math 1. In fact, the Math 2 test is scaled much more generously than the Math 1 test to compensate for its more advanced concepts.

A perfect score on the SAT Subject Test in Math Level 2 is impressive to any college, and especially to selective technical and engineering schools like MIT and Caltech!

Getting an 800 on the SAT Subject Test in Math Level 2 is not easy. But with hard work and our help, you will be able to do it. Almost all of our students scored 800 on the SAT Subject Test in Math Level 2, and we know what it takes to get there.

The best way to prepare for the exam is definitely to practice past tests. We have a long history of close collaboration with the College Board, and have compiled a set of 20 previous full-length official SAT Subject Math Level 2 exam booklets. All these materials have become a golden resource for our students, who are the ultimate beneficiaries.

All problems from past official SAT Subject Math Level 2 exams have formed our “big data” system. We have used data mining, descriptive statistics, and predictive analytics to carefully examine the types, frequencies, and pattern of questions in all these materials, and then completely “decoded” the SAT Subject Math Level 2. We always show all the “secret code” cracked from the above big data to students, and teach them to totally grasp and “control” the SAT Subject Math Level 2. In fact, for all questions on the recent SAT Subject Math Level 2 exams, we can find their “ancestors” and “roots” from the old SAT Subject Math Level 2 problems. We show you how to get the RIGHT ANSWER with the RIGHT WAY on every question as it was designed to be solved. We show you the thinking and logic that is actually being tested, not only tips and tricks.

Our philosophy is extremely different from most experts in that we concentrate on test specific strategy that students have never seen in a traditional class setting. The strategy is designed to save time, avoid carelessness, solve problems from past SAT Subject Math Level 2 tests, and exploit the weaknesses of standardized tests, as opposed to spending valuable time on the conventional teaching of mathematics.

Our SAT Subject Math Level 2 course and tutoring will include a discussion of the effective use of a graphing calculator to solve SAT Subject Math Level 2 problems. We will also help students develop quick problem solving strategies and potent time management skills. The timing of the Subject Math Level 2 is limited. In total, you will have 60 minutes to knock down 50 math problems – that leaves you with 1 minute and 12 seconds per math question on average (keep in mind that some questions will take less time and others will take more time). We will train you to be able to solve each math problem within one minute, even hard problems.

We are only one in the Washington DC metropolitan area who have a contract with the College Board to use all real questions from the past SAT Subject Math Level 2 tests in our SAT Subject Math Prep program. Our students have gained great benefits from the program and received top scores on the SAT Subject Math Level 2 tests. In particular, 613 students achieved a perfect score of 800 on SAT Subject Test in Math Level 2 in the past few years. Please view here: Notable Achievements of Our Students

Although the 2016 AMC 10/12 contests have finished, we must prepare in advance for the 2017 AMC 10/12 contests. As the great scientist Louis Pasteur said, “Chance favors only the prepared mind.” Those who strive to prepare early, and work hard are the ones who achieve the best results. The AMC is a complex math competition that requires dedication and focus. Therefore, the earlier our students start preparing, the better their scores will be. Read more at:

Small-sized Class Teaching Model: We utilize the highly effective small-sized class teaching model. Smaller classes lead to pupils receiving more individual attention from teachers, and having more active interactions with them. We focus on every individual, not the whole class. Students will thrive from the smaller class sizes that allow them to reach their full potential. Particularly, students can benefit tremendously from high-frequent individualized student-teacher interactions leading to establishment of a stronger foundation for lifelong learning.

Our main purpose is to help our students gain deeper understanding of the fundamental math concepts, build a solid foundation in math, and develop the critical thinking and problem-solving skills that are so valuable to success in any career. We are big believers in the FUNDAMENTALS! Our students will receive the LIFELONG BENEFITS from learning math.

Regardless of his/her math level, each student will have the opportunity to learn math in a fun, friendly, cooperative, supportive learning environment. The most important thing is to have fun.

Although the 2016 AIME contests have just finished, we must prepare in advance for the 2017 AIME contests. As the great scientist Louis Pasteur said, “Chance favors only the prepared mind.” Those who strive to prepare early, and work hard are the ones who achieve the best results. The AIME is a complex math competition that requires dedication and focus. Therefore, the earlier our students start preparing, the better their scores will be.

AIME_large

All problems from all of the previous 51 AIME contests (1983-2016) form our “big data” system. We have used data mining and predictive analytics to examine the types and the frequencies of questions in all these materials, and then completely “decoded” the AIME. We will show all the “secret code” cracked from the above big data to students, and teach them to totally grasp and “control” the AMC. For all questions on the recent AIME contests, we can find their “ancestors” and “roots” from the old AIME problems. Therefore, the best way to prepare for the contest is to practice by solving old AIME problems.

2016 AIME II Problems and Answers

2016-aime-ii

The 2016 AIME II was held on March 16, 2016. 975 students from US and Canadian schools participated in this contest. The AIME is taken by students who achieved a score in the top 5% (approximately) on the AMC 12, and students who achieve a score of 120 or more (approximately the top 2.5%) on the AMC 10. We have 36 students this year who are qualified to take the AIME through the AMC 10 and the AMC 12. Read more at: 2016 AIME Qualifiers Announced — 36 Students Qualified for AIME

This contest leads to the USAJMO, USAMO, MOSP (Mathematical Olympiad Summer Program) and the selection of the USA team sent to the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO), the premier international high school level problem solving contest. This year the IMO will be held in Hong Kong, July 6–16, 2016.

The AIME provides the exceptional students who are invited to take it with yet another opportunity to challenge their mathematical abilities. Like all examinations, it is a means towards furthering mathematical development and interest. The real value of the examination is in the learning that can come from the preparation beforehand and from further thought and discussion of the solutions.

Homework assignments are a fundamental part of our courses

The only way to learn mathematics is by doing mathematics! Homework assignments are a fundamental part of a mathematics course. Homework is also seen as a welcome challenge and an opportunity for further learning. Homework given prior to a lesson can aid in understanding later during class. Homework also provides opportunities for reinforcement of the material learned in class.

Homework has the potential to be an extremely valuable part of students’ learning experience. We always create highly effective homework assignments and provide students and parents with the powerful tools necessary for the process to be as successful as possible. In addition, we also keep homework as fun and as stimulating as possible for the students. The weekly homework problem sets consist of three types of problems:

(1) A fast/mental calculation problem set: this will help students establish excellent basic calculation skills and fast problem-solving ability making all areas of math easier and quicker.

(2) A comprehensive problem set: this set consists of 25 questions at the AMC 8/MathCounts level taken from the licensed AMC Database. The set covers the following areas: Counting, Number Theory, Logic Reasoning, Probability, Statistics, Algebra, and Geometry.

(3) An especially designed problem set: this focuses on the topic presented in an immediately previous lesson, and provides students with the needed review and reinforcement about material learned in class.

Homework Correction is very Important — We Give an Extensive Correction of the Incorrect Answers of All Homework

do math newAmerica’s public school system has a major flaw: teachers grade homework for completion, rather than accuracy. They neglect to check their students’ daily progress through their homework, and lose the opportunity to correct their students’ mistakes.

Our teaching style is unique in that we adamantly believe in the importance of checking/correcting and reviewing our students’ homework.

By carefully examining our students’ homework, we can see how the students managed with the task set for homework, evaluate their progress, assess their current levels of academic engagement and performance, and identify their strengths and weaknesses. We give students another opportunity for learning, and they can learn from their mistakes and ensure that these mistakes will not be repeated.  Checked homework also provides a correct model for students to look back on when necessary. More importantly, based on students’ homework, we can provide them with timely individualized help.

Homework correction is especially important for 5th-8th graders because that period of time is critical to the development of students’ math skills! Students in the 5th-8th grade lack the ability to self-study competitive math, and they cannot self-critique their advanced math homework. Our homework correction service has greatly help those students at the 5th-8th grade levels gain a deeper understanding of the fundamental math concepts, build a solid foundation in math, and develop the critical thinking and problem-solving skills, motivation, and perseverance for reaching their full potentials. All these things are not available through regular classes at school.

We always provide our students with an extensive, detailed correction of the incorrect answers of all homework, from which they have greatly benefited. Click HERE to see a typical sample.

No other tutoring center gives such an emphasis on checking homework; this is merely one of the unique aspects of our education service.

We have to face the simple truth that to do well on these grueling contests, we will need to practice. Just like it is for sports and music, the key to success is repetition and practice. We strongly believe in effort and the malleability of intelligence. Intelligence can be enhanced through effort. People can develop impressive levels of expertise through hard work and practice. Effort and persistence are the keys to success. Hard work always pays off: practice makes perfect!

All problems from past AMC 8 exams (1985-2015) and MathCounts (1990–2016) form our “big data” system. We have used data mining and predictive analytics to examine the types and the frequencies of questions in all these materials, and then completely “decoded” the AMC 8 and MathCounts.
