We have a long history of close collaboration with the College Board and the Educational Testing Service. The 72 full-length real SATs have formed our “big data” system, a golden resource for our students, who are the ultimate beneficiaries. For all questions on the recent SAT tests, we can find their “ancestors” and “roots” from the old SAT problems. We have used data mining and predictive analytics to examine the types and the frequencies of questions in all these materials, and then completely “decoded” the SAT.

We are only one in the Washington DC metropolitan area who have a contract with the College Board to use all real questions from the past SAT tests in our SAT Prep program. Our students have gained great benefits from the program and received top scores on the SAT.

Our SAT prep classes/tutoring/coaching have been extremely effective in raising students’ math scores on the SAT, usually well over 150 points, and many of our students have received perfect scores. Please view here: Notable Achievements of Our Students

Our philosophy is extremely different from most experts in that we concentrate on test specific strategy that students have never seen in a traditional class setting. The strategy is designed to save time, avoid carelessness, solve problems from past SAT tests, and exploit the weaknesses of standardized tests, as opposed to spending valuable time on the conventional teaching of mathematics.

Our SAT prep course and tutoring will include a discussion of the effective use of a graphing calculator to solve SAT problems. We will also help students develop quick problem solving strategies and potent time management skills. The timing of the SAT is limited. In total, you will have 80 minutes to knock down 58 math problems – that leaves you with 1 minute and 22.8 seconds per math question on average (keep in mind that some questions will take less time and others will take more time). We will train you to be able to solve each math problem within one minute, even hard problems.

The only way to score well on a standardized test is to study materials directly developed by the test-maker. The Ivy League Education Center is uniquely equipped to maximize SAT/PSAT scores because our curriculum utilizes real SAT questions and SAT preparation materials from the College Board. Rather than try to mimic the College Board’s questions, the program purchases all exams directly from the test maker.

sat_math_logo

We have a long history of close collaboration with the College Board and the Educational Testing Service. Actually, we are only one in the Washington DC metropolitan area having a contract with the College Board to use all real questions from the past SAT tests in our SAT Prep program. Our students have gained great benefits from the program and received top scores on the SAT. In particular, 461 students got a perfect score of 800 on the SAT Math Section, including five 6th graders, twenty 7th graders, and forty five 8th graders. Please view here: Notable Achievements of Our Students

The best way to prepare for the SAT is to practice by solving College Board’s official SAT problems. We have collected a total of 1596 Redesigned SAT math questions from the College Board as described in Table 1: 483 questions on which no calculator can be used and 1113 questions that are calculator-optional. More details can be found in Table 2-5. All these questions have formed our “big data” system, a golden resource for our students, who are the ultimate beneficiaries. We have used data mining and predictive analytics to examine the types and the frequencies of questions, and then completely decode the SAT. We always show all the “secret code” cracked from the above big data to students, and teach them to totally grasp and “control” the SAT.

The College Board published a series of materials describing the redesign of the SAT, such as:

  • Test Specifications for the Redesigned SAT
  • Getting Ready for the Redesigned SAT (REVISED FOR USE FOR MARCH – JUNE 2016)
  • The Redesigned SAT and SAT Suite of Assessments (Online) Math Sample Questions
  • The Official SAT Study Guide (2016 Edition)

These materials provide meaningful information and knowledge about key elements of the various components comprising the Redesigned SAT. We have compiled 180 math sample questions from the above four documents. See more details in Table 4 below.

Every official SAT included one test section that did not count towards a test taker’s score. By design, students could not tell which section was experimental, which allowed the College Board to effectively pretest questions for future exams. With all the changes being made to the new SAT in 2016, the experimental sections in recent years from have been especially novel and different from what students are used to seeing on the SAT. We have collected redesigned SAT math questions in the recent experimental sections of real SAT tests from May 2014 to Jan. 2016, as shown in Table 5.

StepsToSuccess-SAT-1-385The only way to score well on a standardized test is to study materials directly written by the test-maker. The Ivy League Education Center is uniquely equipped to maximize SAT/PSAT scores because our curriculum utilizes College Board materials. Rather than try to mimic the College Board’s questions, the program purchases all exams directly from the test maker.

We have a long history of close collaboration with the College Board and the Educational Testing Service. We have collected 16 full-length real redesigned SATs and 3 full-length real redesigned SATs as described in Table 1, which have formed our “big data” system, a golden resource for our students, who are the ultimate beneficiaries. For all questions on the recent SAT tests, we can find their “ancestors” and “roots” from the old SAT problems. We have used data mining and predictive analytics to examine the types and the frequencies of questions in all these materials, and then completely “decoded” the SAT.

We are only one in the Washington DC metropolitan area having a contract with the College Board to use all real questions from the past SAT tests in our SAT Prep program. Our students have gained great benefits from the program and received top scores on the SAT.

The new PSAT, considered to be a “preliminary SAT,” closely resembles the new SAT. Except for the fact that the PSAT does not have an essay, the two tests have very similar content, format, question types, and even scoring. In fact, all PSAT and SAT questions come from the same database developed by the College Board/Educational Testing Service. Because of this, we can use all of the test strategies, course materials, and practice activities to prepare students for the PSAT as well as the SAT.

We are only one in the Washington DC metropolitan area who have a contract with the College Board to use all real questions from the past SAT tests in our SAT Prep program. The SAT Subject Test in Math Level 2 covers the content of pre-calculus. The best time to take the SAT Subject Tests in Math is at the end of the course, when the material is still fresh in your mind. June is the best time to take it, with May as a close runner up.

Theoretically, you need to have completed a pre-calculus class with a solid “B” or better to feel comfortable on the Math 2, whereas the content of the Math 1 test covers only Algebra 2 and basic trigonometry. Some advanced math students (pre-calculus or beyond) make the mistake of taking Math 1 instead of Math 2 on the premise that it will be easier to score higher on the Math 1. In fact, the Math 2 test is scaled much more generously than the Math 1 test to compensate for its more advanced concepts.

A perfect score on the SAT Subject Test in Math Level 2 is impressive to any college, and especially to selective technical and engineering schools like MIT and Caltech!

Getting an 800 on the SAT Subject Test in Math Level 2 is not easy. But with hard work and our help, you will be able to do it. Almost all of our students scored 800 on the SAT Subject Test in Math Level 2, and we know what it takes to get there.

The best way to prepare for the exam is definitely to practice past tests. We have a long history of close collaboration with the College Board, and have compiled a set of 20 previous full-length official SAT Subject Math Level 2 exam booklets. All these materials have become a golden resource for our students, who are the ultimate beneficiaries.

All problems from past official SAT Subject Math Level 2 exams have formed our “big data” system. We have used data mining, descriptive statistics, and predictive analytics to carefully examine the types, frequencies, and pattern of questions in all these materials, and then completely “decoded” the SAT Subject Math Level 2. We always show all the “secret code” cracked from the above big data to students, and teach them to totally grasp and “control” the SAT Subject Math Level 2. In fact, for all questions on the recent SAT Subject Math Level 2 exams, we can find their “ancestors” and “roots” from the old SAT Subject Math Level 2 problems. We show you how to get the RIGHT ANSWER with the RIGHT WAY on every question as it was designed to be solved. Small-sized Class Instruction Focused Model

We utilize the highly effective small-sized class teaching model to ensure each student can get enough attention and one-on-one time with our instructors. Smaller classes lead to pupils receiving more individual attention from instructors, and having more active interactions with them.

We focus on every individual, not the whole class. Students will thrive from the smaller class sizes that allow them to reach their full potential. Particularly, students can benefit tremendously from high-frequent individualized student-teacher interactions leading to establishment of a stronger foundation for lifelong learning.

chinesisch-lernen-in-shanghai

Our tutoring model is very unique. We ask that all students complete all the required problems at home, and then email their work to us before come to the class. We will carefully review and check the students’ work. Based on their work, we can detect what are the student’s specific weaknesses and use those problems in class to teach the students all the tricks, shortcuts, strategies, and tactics for taking the contest. The entire class time is used for instructional tutoring/lecturing only. We firmly believe that learning is extremely important, and that a student should not waste time doing problems with our supervision if they can do those problems at home. So our 2-hour session is equivalent to a regular 4-hour session.

Twice the results in half the time!
